CDL Drivers transport goods to and from specified locations within a designated geographic area. Ensuring that materials are well secured and that deliveries/pickups/jobsite-specific functions are completed in a timely manner. Looking for someone with a Tanker Endorsement!

About Island Mechanical

Island Mechanical Corporation is a general contractor in Hawaii specializing in pipeline construction, fabrication and directional drilling for major utility companies, refineries, and the federal government.

• Loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal, and placement of various types, sizes, and weights of construction materials and equipment
• Ability to move and drive tractor-trailers or truck and trailer combinations
• Perform safety checks of brakes, steering column, lights, and mirrors prior to each leg of the journey to ensure road readiness
• Follow and maintain loading protocols
• Inspect trailers before and after loading
• Assist in unloading cargo when delivery sites are understaffed, maintaining product quality throughout conveyance
• Always adhere to traffic safety regulations, exercise caution in treacherous circumstances, and report unsafe vehicle or road conditions to supervisors and highway authorities
• Must be able to drive without restrictions
• Other related duties and projects as assigned

• Class A CDL License
• Two years of experience working as a CDL driver with no safety incidents on record

• Flexibility to travel
• Ability to work extended hours when necessary for business needs
• Experience working in construction is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability and willingness to travel as needed

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• Prolonged periods of standing and walking
• Able to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
• Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery
• Must be able to see to visually inspect machines and verbally communicate
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly, and occasionally lift and carry up to 100 pounds
